What makes us different?  Why should you be our guest this week?

We are still very much a new church that is laser focused on the vision that God has given us as a church. Most churches subconsciously target "church" people. At DC, we want to build a church for those unchurched individuals and families. We love DeArmanville, Anniston, Oxford, Heflin, and our surrounding communities! And whereas many churches focus on one generation, we pride ourself in being a multi-generational church! What makes us most different is the obvious culture of love within the church. People actually like each other and guests feel welcome into the environment!  Put us to the test.  Be our guest this Sunday at 11 AM for Worship Celebration and 9:45 AM for Small Groups.  You might be pleasantly surprised by what you find.

PEAKS & VALLEYS SERIES

Life can be wild, like tumbleweed blowing across a dusty desert land. As a result, our faith can sometimes wax and wain because of circumstances around us. This certainly isn’t God’s intentions, but the pressures, anxieties, fears, and busyness can weigh on us and even distract us from placing our hope in God.  Add in all the overt evil in our days, then it is easy to fall into a crisis of faith. In this series from 1-2 Kings, we will look at the life and examples of the prophets Elijah and Elisha during some turbulent times in Israel. We will discover God’s faithfulness, His promises, and His presence even amid the hardships of life. We also will discover why prayer matters so much. As James 5:17 states….

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.

Elijah and Elisha were ordinary men, prone to human experience, emotions, and even subject to temptation. Yet, in a critical time in history, God chose to work in them and through them. This should be our prayer today. That even within all the chaos of our world and culture, we can be witnesses of the only hope for this world, Jesus Christ. The Church is now the mouthpiece of the greatest message given to mankind, the Gospel. Like Elijah and Elisha, let us boldly live and declare God’s truth!
